French Spiderman, Alain Robert

Maybe you´ve seen a French dude climbing skyscrapers on TV, or maybe even live. If not, let me introduce you to Alain Robert, commonly known as “the French Spider-Man.”

He is known for climbing skyscrapers and buildings with his bare hands and climbing shoes. This crazy guy has scaled approximately 85 giant structures around the globe including many of the tallest ones

Authorities normally don´t give him permission to climb the buildings, so many times he does it illegally. He has been arrested many times in various countries, and he was even exiled from China in 2007 by climbing the 88-story Jin Mao Building in Shanghai.

His “job” normally attracts thousands of people who watch him climb. His arrests and trials are normally little more than brief formalities, and he is always discharged with nothing more than a small fine. Some companies that own tall buildings hire him to climb theirs for publicity. He was even paid $18,000 to climb the Lloyd´s of London to promote the premiere of the movie Spider-Man on the British television channel Sky Movies. Alain has climbed towers and skyscrapers from almost every part of the world. He also is a strong promoter of the awareness of global warming.

He wrote an autobiography titled “With Bare Hands” and was first published in English in 2008. It shows his development into a famous urban climber from his days as a child and gives a deep insight into his philosophy and how he managed to overcome his disabilities.

Some of his famous climbs are:

The Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois in 1999.

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (200 meters tall) on February, 2003.

The Federation Tower office building in Moscow (244 meters tall) on September 4, 2007.

The Lloyd´s building during a G-20 London Summit on April 2, 2009.

Massive espionage operation detected

An electronic massive espionage operation was detected in the computers of hundreds of governments and their private offices all over the world. Including the Dalai Lama’s, reported today by the New York Times. In this report which will be spread during the weekend, the investigators pointed out that the espionage system was controlled almost totally from China, even though they don’t think the government of this country is involved.
The investigators, who belong to the Munk Center for International Studies, from the University of Toronto, have received petitions of the Tibetan leader’s office, who maintains a politic dispute with China, to check their computers in search of “malicious software”.
The investigation revealed that in less than 2 years, it successfully infected at least 1,295 computers in 103 countries, included many government embassies, and offices of Ministers of Exterior Relations of other countries, such as institutions from the Tibetan country in India, Brussels, London and New York. It also revealed that this “Ghost Net” is focused primarily in keeping watch on Governments of countries from South and Southeast Asia.
According to NYT this investigation if far the biggest done if based on the number of countries affected by the electronic espionage. The authors of the investigation assure that the attack continues, and that daily a dozen computers are infected. They also pointed out that a computer of the NATO is being watched by the spies during the middle of the day, same as the machines in the Embassy of India in Washington.
The infiltrations doesn’t limit just to get information or spy on documents, it can use a surveillance system that can turn on the camera and microphone of the computer and record what’s happening in the room. International authorities have been alerted of the situation; however, they are limited because of the little legislation that exists in cyberspace. The FBI refused to comment about the situation.

Cat-Boy

The whole story started with the medical visit of a young Chinese to get his eyes checked. The problem was that Nong Youhui’s father noticed that his son's bright blue eyes glowed in the dark as if they were lanterns. "The Sun" diary informs that the medics, whose hospital is located in Dahua, China, discovered that the kid has the ability to see in the darkness. Experts believe he was born with a very strange condition called “leukodermia”, which has left his eyes with less protective pigment and more sensitive to the light, even though he can see as clearly as any other person in daylight.
According to the medical test done to Nong Youhui, they were able to determine that the kid can read without difficulty in complete darkness. He can see so clearly as if it was daylight. By the other side, Nong Youhui is already nicknamed Cat-Boy. His father only had to say that some time ago the medics told him his son eye’s would stop glowing eventually and would turn black, but this never happened.
